Who we are
Teach Me 1600 is a free SAT practice app for students 13 and older, from the makers of Teach Me. It is run by Sati Hillyer, Walnut Creek, California. Questions about privacy go to hello@teachme1600.com.
Teach Me 1600 is not affiliated with or endorsed by the College Board. SAT is a trademark registered by the College Board.
You must be 13 or older
You make your own account, and you confirm you are 13 or older when you do. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 13, we delete it. A parent who thinks their child under 13 signed up can email us and we will delete the account.
What we collect

We do not collect your last name, birthday, school, phone number, photos, location or contacts. We do not show ads, we do not track you across other sites, and we never sell, rent or share your personal information for advertising.
Who else handles the data
- Cloudflare hosts the app and its database.
- Anthropic (when AI hints are on) receives the practice question and the answer you chose, to write a hint or explanation. We never send your name, email or any other personal detail with it.
- Resend (only if you ask for a password reset) delivers the reset email to your address.
We will not share your personal information with anyone else unless you agree, or the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while you use the app. When you delete your account, we delete your progress, notes and usage history right away. Accounts with no activity for 12 months are deleted; if we can, we email you about a month before, and signing in keeps the account. Short-term security records, such as failed sign-ins, are cleared within minutes to days.
What you can do
- See it: your progress, skill levels and projected score are on your home screen.
- Change it: update your test date and goal under Account.
- Delete it: Account → Delete my account removes everything, or email hello@teachme1600.com and we will do it for you.
If you live in California or another state with its own privacy law, you have the rights above plus any your state adds. We do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it.
Security
Passwords are never stored in readable form. The app is served only over encrypted connections, sign-in attempts are rate limited, and only the operator can reach the admin console. Only the operator can see account records, and we look at them only to run the service, answer you, or fix a problem. If we learn your information was exposed, we will tell you by email.
About the projected score
The projected score in the app is an estimate built from your practice. It is not an official SAT score and is not reported to anyone.
Changes
If we change how we collect or use your information in a meaningful way, we will tell you in the app and ask you to agree again before it applies to you.
